EPC Total Quality Management Project for an International Engineering Company

The Context: The client, a leading international engineering company, undertook the General Contractor (GC) role for a massive integrated refining and chemical project. The project involved hundreds of process units and the installation of over 10,000 pieces of equipment and pipelines. Traditional management methods relying on paper records and Excel spreadsheets led to confusion over quality document versions, lagging multi-party signature approval workflows, and difficulties in tracing issues.
The Solution: The enterprise deployed the EPC Total Quality Management System.
Structured Management: Based on the WBS hierarchy, the system rapidly established a four-level management structure: "Unit Project - Divisional Works - Sub-divisional Works - Inspection Lot."
Efficient Execution: Utilizing the ITP template library, the system enabled one-click generation of control point lists for key processes such as welding, anti-corrosion, and pressure testing, while supporting real-time field data entry via mobile devices.
Resource & Workflow Integration: The system automatically validated inspection instrument approval status to ensure compliance. A workflow engine drove online collaborative approvals among supervisors, the general contractor, and construction units, automatically generating standardized PDF reports.
The Results: Post-implementation, the quality acceptance cycle was significantly accelerated. Furthermore, any quality issue could be reverse-traced via Tag ID to the specific procedure, crew, and tool used, providing complete digital assets for the final project handover.
